Tash & Holly | Queenstown Same Sex Wedding

Every now and then you are a part of a wedding that just blows you away, and Tash and Holly’s love story did just that. After meeting just under a year ago on a sponsored 888km bike ride across California for HIV/AIDS, they fell in love, and moved in together as soon as they returned to Australia. From there, in their own words, life hit warp speed…

“We’ve fitted about 7 years’ worth of hetero life events into less than a year (just not with child yet). We’ve U-hauled like no one’s business, purchased a house full of furniture, bought an investment property, travelled to 8 countries and over 4 continents, met each other’s extended families, organised a NZ wedding, travelled some more, jumped out of planes and flown in helicopters together, snowboarded in the Canadian alps, ate and drank ourselves silly around Europe and supported each other through the highs and lows of work and our respective AFL and triathlon retirements. The list goes on but it will never be finished.

Our love was grown from adventure so it made sense to get married in a place which represented exactly that. Australia didn’t allow same sex marriage at the time of engagement so NZ was the next best thing. Ironically the day after the yes vote was announced as the winner, we flew to NZ for a reconnaissance trip. The moment we landed, the fears of regret were quelled. Queenstown was PERFECT.”

Tash and Holly… after having met you on your Queenstown wedding day, and witnessed first hand the energy that surrounded you both, I have absolutely no doubt that you have something special together.

Every single moment was incredible. A few stands outs have to be the Tim Tam infused whiskey shots for their guests during the signing of the register at the ceremony; their personal quote “lights the fire yet grounds the soul”; and a song written for Tash by a songwriter friend of Holly’s and played by Australia’s got Talent winner Uncle Jed at the reception. Every single detail of this beautiful wedding came from the heart.

It all sounds unbelievable, but spend even half an hour with this exceptional couple and you’ll soon realise that with these two at the helm, it isn’t!! Enjoy xx
